Matt Stanton has over 20 years of experience in directing public policy for elected officials, non-profit organizations and Fortune 500 companies. Matt is currently Vice President, Global Public Policy for Under Armour. In this role he leads the formation and implementation of Under Armour public policy strategy at the local, state, federal and international levels. Under Armour is one of the largest apparel, footwear and technology companies in the world. Under Armour is headquartered in Baltimore, MD with nearly 16,000 employees world-wide. Prior to joining Under Armour, Matt had an extensive career in the public and private sectors. As Vice President, Public Affairs and Corporate Social Responsibility for Beam Suntory, the third largest spirits company in the world with iconic brands like Jim Beam, Maker’s Mark, Courvoisier and Laphroaig, Matt led the government affairs function and managed social responsibility strategy. Before Beam Suntory, Matt was Vice President, Corporate Affairs for Fortune Brands, a diverse consumer goods company with brands like Master Lock, Moen faucets, Titleist golf, as well as many beverage alcohol brands. Prior to his work in the private sector, Matt worked on Capitol Hill for various members of Congress, helping them implement their legislative agenda. Matt is a native Washingtonian. He received his undergraduate degree from Catholic University of America and his law degree from American University Washington College of Law. Matt lives in Bethesda, MD with his wife Katie and their six children.
